Maple
"Bird Seed" Cookies
3 c. Oatmeal
1 c. Raisins
1 c. Sesame Seeds
1 c. Maple Syrup
1 c. Peanut Butter
1 Tsp. Vanilla
Cook peanut butter
and maple syrup until mixed. Add vanilla. Add to dry
ingredients which have been stirred together. Form into cookies
between hands. Let set on a tray until the cookies stay together. |

Butter Frosting
Good on spice cake, applesauce cake or white cake.
1/2 c. Butter
3 c. Confectioner's Sugar
4-6 Tbs. Maple Syrup
1/4 c. Chopped Walnuts or Pecans
Thoroughly cream butter and
sugar, adding maple syrup until light consistency to spread. |

Cream Sauce
(For ice cream and puddings)
Boil together for 3 minutes: 1
cup maple syrup & 2 Tbs. butter. Cool & stir in 1/4 cup
undiluted evaporated milk. Serve with pecans. Makes about
1-1/4 cups. |

Milk Shake
1 c. Milk
1 Scoop Vanilla Ice Cream
3 Tbs. Maple Syrup
Place all ingredients in a
blender and blend until well mixed or shake all ingredients thoroughly
in a title covered container. |

Peanut Cream Spread
1/4 c. Maple Syrup
1/2 c. Peanut Butter
Cream peanut butter and maple
syrup together. Spread on plain crackers, toast or bread. |

Rum Sauce
1 1/2 c. Maple Syrup
1 Tbs. Rum
Cook maple syrup slowly until
slightly thick. Add rum and serve on vanilla ice cream. |

Salad Dressing
3/4 c. Salad Oil
1/4 c. Vinegar
3 Tbs. Maple Syrup
1 Tsp. Salt
1 Tsp. Dry Mustard
1/2 Tsp. Paprika
Blend ingredients and serve on
lettuce wedge. Yield: 1 cup dressing. |

Maple Cream or Maple Butter
Cream
Chopped Nuts
Whole Wheat Bread
Depending on the number of
sandwiches desired, combine maple cream, nuts and cream and spread on
whole wheat bread. For 1 c. maple cream, add 3 Tbs. cream.
the cream just makes the maple cream more spreadable. |

Sauce for Ham
1 Tbs. Cornstarch
1/4 Tsp. Salt
1 Tsp. Mustard
3 Whole Cloves
1 c. Maple Syrup
Mix dry ingredients in
saucepan. Add maple syrup. Stir & cook slowly until
thickened & clear. Variation: add 1/2 c. crushed pineapple or
1/2 c. cooked raisins to sauce. |

Frankfurts
1 Lb. Frankfurts
2 Tbs. Melted Butter or Margarine
1 Tbs. Soy Sauce
1 Tbs. Maple Syrup
Combine ingredients except
frankfurts in a frying pan. Score frankfurts and cut in half if
desired. Put frankfurts into frying pan & stir around until
coated with sauce. Simmer about 15 minutes, turning often.
Can use as an appetizer. |
